This is not a question that can be answered with any certainty. We do know that some species of shark live for over a 100 years are unable to breed until they are around 20 years old, around one fifth of their life time. It appears that male whale sharks are not able to breed until they are about 30 years old. If 30 years is a fifth of a male whale sharks expected life time then they may live fo upto 150 years, possibly longer.
