White Longsnout Seahorse
Stingray point is the last dive site on the southwest end of Utila, next to Utila’s Cays.
A special location with two reef walls, one extending eastwards along the south coast of Utila and the other extending south bordering the cays and running out to sea eventually becoming Diamond Cay Bank. The two walls meet at Stingray Point creating a natural funnel that can bring big surprises.
Deep dives can be done at Stingray Point but the best of this dive site is 20m and shallower. Follow the south wall for 20 minutes (look out for black coral along here) until you find a canyon. Enter this fairly tight canyon and follow it around a sharp 90deg left hand turn (watch your fin tips here!) and let the canyon bring you up to the top of the reef around 6m deep. Explore the top of the reef with its beautiful pillar corals, brain corals, sand channels, etc. A great dive with a lot of variety - look out for seahorses, scorpion fish, turtles (of course!), and in the sand patch near the start of the dive string rays!

Pair of Grey Angel Fish
After making this dive we often head to the Cays to stop at the famous Susan's Fish Burgers! A few minutes boat ride and get ready for either a late lunch or early breakfast during our surface interval. Decide on your next dive site and head out for another dive!
