The only beginners course on Utila that includes skin diving/breath hold diving and snorkeling training that includes a special boat trip to go practice the techniques on Utila's reef. A great introduction to scuba diving even if you are a confident snorkeler already. If you are unfamiliar with snorkeling or nervous of trying scuba diving  we find this start is the best way to start. Plus it's an extra boat trip on top of the scuba dive training trips!

This price includes everything you need in order to get certified, study materials, equipment, accommodation, certification fee, etc.

The beginners courses has 5 scuba dives, including one confined water dive where you will learn the essential skills required for diving in very shallow water and 4 open water dives on the reef around Utila, plus a boat trip to go practice your snorkeling and free diving skills on the first day of the course. Following the course you will get 2 free fun dives to enjoy your new found skills and really explore the reef systems around the island.

At Alton's we have what we believe to be the best value beginners course on Utila. Starting with a snorkeling and skin diving (or free diving/breath hold diving) session which includes a boat trip to go and snorkel on Utila's reef. This is a great introduction to scuba diving if you have limited snorkeling experience. If you have plenty of snorkeling experience this session will provide you with stronger techniques to get more out of your snorkeling and breath hold dives, including a fuller understanding of how to free dive better, longer and safer.

The scuba training starts the following day and includes all the typical training plus at Alton's we will train you with some basic rescue skills so that you are fully equipped to help other divers in the unlikey event of somebody getting into trouble.
